Message from Creative Director: Cheryl Beer

Hello Everyone
I can not thank you enough for coming and making the Tale Trail such an amazing and magical weekend. There were so many highlights for me, the amazing storytellers, the art work, the music, the garden ...

... but the absolute joys for me were firstly, how AMAZING our Young Storytelling teams were on both days.

Having worked with the children in school facilitating storytelling & marketing workshops, it was magical to sit back and watch the children grow in confidence, learning and demonstrating a new skill. Well done children!

I piloted Young Storytelling teams for the Story Weekend, based on an idea originally suggested to us by Mrs Starkey, Head teacher at Johnstown Primary School, Carmathen, following feedback from her children after last year's Tale Trail.

The second most joyous highlight for me, was seeing so many children having such a fabulous time! From the tiny ones, the middle sized ones right through to the child inside the grown ups! With Mums and Dads, Nans and Grandads, brothers, sisters, Aunts and Uncles all joining in with the laughter and fun.

Thankyou in particular to David Hardy, who has whole heartedly gotten behind the trail for 2 years now, to Rosie Plumber, Garden Director and to all of their team for very kindly hosting the event.

The Trail is made possible by my Creative Team, made up of friends of mine; special friends who are ALL gifted, fabulous, generous of time, light of spirit, creatives and artists, who are quite frankly ... FABULOUS!! A thousnad thank you's!

Thank you also to Disability Arts Cymru for funding Rachel Stelmach to come and tell the Story of Captain Bluehook, thus promtoing positive images of disability through story and projection in Theatre Botanica.

I love the National Botanic Garden of Wales. I feel very passionate about it becasue of how it makes me, and others feel when we are there ... and I think EVERYONE should be a member! Not only does it save you lots of money by joining, meaning you can go as many times as you like, it supports a national facility/charity providing us with the most glorious place to be!

PIRATE PIGS ARE COMING ON SHIP!!

Sadly our good friend Jeff Rees is poorly this week, and so won't be able to make it to tell stories for us this Saturday at the Tale Trail.
Get Well Soon Jeff.

But the GREAT NEWS is that PAUL BYRNE has kindly agreed to come instead!

Paul is an amazing artist and he will be in The Gallery this Saturday afternoon 13th April as part of the Tale Trail, showing the children how to make their very own PIRATE PIGS from clay, which they can take home with them.

Thanks Paul, we're very excited to have you on board our Story Ship! Oink!
